Update on Winter Wonderland as at 18/09

The up-front headline news is that if we can go ahead, we WILL go ahead!

Obviously no-one can predict the future and we don’t know what changes may be introduced by the Scottish Government but as it stands, the hotel is booked & ready to welcome us back for our favourite dance weekend of the year.

We must say an absolutely massive THANK YOU to everyone who showed their commitment by retaining your 2020 booking into this year, we are very, very grateful.

So please do read below where we go into a couple of the finer details about the weekend including payments etc.

Dates & Balance Payments

The weekend will run on Friday 19th to Sunday 21st November at the Salutation Hotel in Perth. The absolute latest date that we need your full balance paid by is Friday 15th October please.

We’d be grateful if you could please pay by bank transfer, although we can accept cheques made payable to ‘Gary Lafferty’ (as these can be processed via our mobile banking app)

If you need a reminder of your balance that is due then please just get in touch.

Covid 19 Details

There are currently no physical distancing requirements in Scotland, and this will apply at the hotel also. We have a ‘full’ weekend which means that we will have 100+ dancers in attendance, and you will be in close proximity to others in the dining room, ballroom, and on the dancefloor.

To help do our best to keep everyone safe as best we can, we ask that after checking in at the hotel, please visit the ballroom to have a contactless temperature check taken and (most importantly) we will ask you to provide evidence of a negative-result Lateral Flow Test taken within the last 48 hours. We know that LFT’s are not fool-proof but think that is a simple step that everyone can do to help minimise any issues.

We are sure that we don’t really need to say this but if you are unwell prior to the event then please don’t travel and if you become unwell over the weekend then please let us know as soon as possible.

As with any indoor setting, we would ask you to wear a face covering when moving around the public areas of the hotel, entering/leaving the ballroom, and going to/from the toilet or bar (unless you are medically exempt). You will not need to wear a mask when sitting at your table in either the restaurant or ballroom, nor when you are on the dancefloor (although you can if you wish).

The weekend may look a little different this year as we are still unsure about what we will be able to do in regards to table & hall decorations, and our usual Midnight Munchies, but rest assured we will deliver the very best weekend that we can for you.

Please remember

For many of us, this will be our first Linedance Weekend away since the pandemic started in early 2020 & it is natural that we are all excitedly looking forward to it. However please remember that not everyone will be comfortable with hugs etc. so please do respect the wishes of others.

Also, we might not remember all the dances we used to - that’s okay, lets just ‘Go with the (Lateral) Flow’ :-)

If you have any queries regarding the above then please do just get in touch with either of us to discuss … we hope that everything is just Common Sense though!

Many thanks once again, and we look forward to seeing you all in Perth!
